- Meetings
- Generally, Knights of the Cape Society meet twice a month on the first and last Wednesday of each month.
- The first Wednesday of the month is the more formal meeting of the two and takes place in Cape Hall.
- On the last Wednesday of each month we hold an informal gathering referred to as a Manor.
- The title of 'Manor' is thought to originate early within the reconstituted society (1965) and refer to the practice of any new Knight giving other Knights and guests a tour of the part of Edinburgh he was most 'at home with'. Perhaps where he had been brought up or now lived. These same locations are often used in defining Knights' pseudonyms, e.g. Sir Restalrig.
- Today, Manors are convivial evenings and can be events which focus on Edinburgh and its past. There are a few traditional, annual manors which include Pitch 'n' Putt, a cultural crawl (during the Edinburgh Festival), a Turtle Feast and a games night. Here's a flavour of these and other past Manors.
- Manors are open to all Knights and guests. Please contact us if you'd like to attend. Manors are the ideal vehicle for coming to know The Cape without any of the small obligations of membership.
