Saint Andrew's Day
A Cape-ish rendition of St. Andrew's Day based upon the life and times of our very own Sir Saint Andrews, including a tour of St Mary's Roman Catholic Church.
Meet sharp at St Mary's Roman Catholic Church (top of Leith Walk) at 7.25pm.
Report
Knights and guests were given a guided tour by the Very Reverend Monsignor Michael Regan (Administrator) who showed off the new organ, some relics of Saint Andrew, including part of his shoulder bone, and the war memorial which included a rare memorial to those who died in the Korean War. The Knights and guests were also privy to the content of a back room which included the two containers in which the relics of Saint Andew were gifted. After the tour, Knights and guests retired to the Outhouse in Forth Street Lane for a quiz laid on by Sir Meadows. The questions related to the cathedral tour and Sir Brougham won a bottle of Grouse. Sir Brougham thanked and toasted Sir Meadows on arranging the Manor and Sir Meadows mentioned he had a copy of a pamphlet issued by Monsignor Regan for those interested in knowing more.
