Knights converged on The White Horse for the start of the free comedy show which 'comiced' off at 7:15pm. Steve, who was first heading to see number one son's band, Academy Strangers, in The Liquid Rooms, gave Colin a lift to the White Horse and bumped in to Martin on his way up the High Street. The five Knights who watched the comedy (George, Colin, Martin, Derran, Neil and Helene (a guest)) declared it to be of the sub-standard The Cape has come to expect, although a couple of the three comedians had one or two 'funnies' in their repertoire. Steve re-joined the company around 9pm before the Cape Crew headed for The Waverly and some good, old-fashioned and predictable Waverly fare, in the form of warm beer in imbibing connoisseurs' chunky, windowed glassware. Another guest, Malc, turned up and some frolics centring on Martin's 'lucky jacket' ensued. As the beer went down (and the sun), Knights left for the pub now known as No.1 High Street. Here, there was some good folk music for Knights to enjoy. As night darkened, convivial sociability was beginning to be overtaken and Knights wisely put on the breaks and headed up to a favourite Festival Fringe hunting ground: The Pleasance. Some light-hearted chat with visitors to the Festival and a few drinks later it was time to head home. Although, true to last year's form, at least one Knight was unable to resist the seductive song of Espionage Sirens on his way. How sad. :) All-in-all, another entertaining evening in Cape Company.
