- Come on a walk along part of the new tram route and listen to tales of woe... With a few bits of tram-trivia thrown in. We'll start at Haymarket and finish at the east end of Princes Street.
- Meet in the Haymarket Bar anytime between 7 and 7.30 p.m. We'll leave at 7.30 p.m. so it's your responsibility to arrive in plenty of time if you want a pint for the off. Guests welcome.

Gordon, Colin, Martin and Steve met in the Haymarket Bar for a drink before heading outside to listen
to Steve recount stories of the late 1800s and early 1900s when trams hit the streets of Edinburgh, big time.
Largely, it was down to the second industrial revolution when electricity was truly harnessed.
We walked along the tram route through Shandwick Place and admired one of the tram stops before
stopping off at Mathers where we were joined by Neil and William.
Knights were already tiring of trams by this point and, bored of waiting for one to turn up, did
what most Edinburgers will do when they need to go somewhere quick (even when trams are running): hail a cab.
This took Knights to The Guildford Arms where the night was polished off.
The evening's format of trams past (Haymarket chat), present (West End chat) and future (East End) quickly faltered
so all the highlights from the evening are available from these Wikipedia pages.
A couple of historical bits we missed but which are worth visiting are at Henderson Row (tram cable pully unit) and Waterloo Place (remnant of cable-hauled tramway).
