Knights and wizard-dog Merlin met in the Golf Tavern before heading out on to
Bruntsfield Links for the time-honoured and traditional pitch 'n' putt battle for
the wee laddie trophy, kindly donated by the late Sir Prestonpans. "Thanks Jimmy, Knights of The Cape toast your memory."
The usual spectrum of talent was on display, ranging from
the almost sublime
to the
ridic, less said the bethighly entertaining. After nine holes and a multitude of hollers of FOUR! the scores were totted up and Colin and Steve came out on top; much to the chagrin of oft past winner and Bruntsfield veteran Dez. The scores were double-checked and car dents repaired on the way to Bennets Bar where Alan joined the company for a short while thanks to the wonders of the Internet. Knights drifted off home a tad fou after a few convivial libations and hirdum-dirdum leaving Neil to hit the Royal Oak on the way home. I'm sure he'll finish off this Manor report in person for anyone who'd like to know what went on there in the wee small hours. Here's some footage of the evening. Unfortunately, we missed the comedy gold of Colin being walked/dragged by wizard-dog Merlin.Nae Tea, Slice o' Cake Cup o' Tea, Cape Gogs Neil Tee Dance
Thanks to everyone who supported the Manor by attending (and to the helpful barmaid who took the group photo).
