The February Manor is a visit to the Scotch Malt Whisly Society (SMWS).

Phil arranged for Knights and guests to meet at The Scotch Malt Whisky Society in Leith. There was interesting chat in the run up to this Manor suggesting a £29 price tag which, it seemed, everyone was in agreement was a very reasonable price for a visit to SMWS. Steve, Kirsty, 'big' Colin, Colin, Dez, Martin and Phil all arrived in plenty of time to have a drink in the wonderful surroundings of the Society's main room before being invited in to one of the many smaller rooms in the building to enjoy what is fast becoming a well known repetoire. Our host, Dean, gave a good talk on the three whiskies which were available to sample. Dez played the best card of the evening when discussion turned to how the names of the whiskies were arrived at and suggested alcho pops should be involved somehow in future names. We keep an eye out for this... And our royalties! There was an unwelcome surprise for Cape coffers towards the end of the night but the less said about this the better!
