Knights and guests gamefully headed for the Hanover Tap in forlorn hope of
laughs aplenty on the latest
Cultural Crawl... Secretly knowing the likelihood
was the real belly laughs and highest entertainment value would be provided by Dez, Gav,
Anne, Martin, Helena, Colin, Phil, Rob, Mark and Steve.
A few warm up drinks were enjoyed before the 'cabaret' show
kicked off at 20.45. The first act, incorporating some magic, was
summed up in terms of quality by the two brutally decayed Sainsbury's plastic
bags used by Fernando. Three 'comendians' later and mercifully, it was all
over. Comedy was also sadly lacking from the bouncer who decided
(for no reason he would give) to deny re-entry to one of the party
after a short cigarette break: shame on you bouncer. Fortunately,
there are plenty pubs in Edinburgh so everyone piled round to the
Thistle Bar where Mark and his guitar joined the company and a few
bods played a few tunes. The Jazz Bar and Cowshed were visited by at least
two Knights who were really up for making a night of it. All-in-all,
exactly what The Cape has come to expect of the perfect Cultural Crawl.
Thanks to everyone who came along to bear the comic pain and Martin for bravery in choosing the show.
