- Latest intelligence tells us the holes of the regular Bruntsfield Links course are stilled filled in and the greens barely discernible. Enquiries have been made of Edinburgh Council by The Cape Society and other organisations. All have been met with radio silence. We'll hold out vain hope of the course being playable by the end of June. If not, Worthy Sovereign will arrange an alternative event or venue.

Meet on the first tee between 19.30 and 20.00. We'll tee off at 20.00.

Martin and Colin were at the designated rendezvous early and reported the innards of the Golf Tavern were a little
'heavy on young students'. Since the weather was on the chilly side and Derran, Rob and Steve were
still enroute, they decided to hold up in Bennet's Bar. In keeping with Cape pitch 'n' putt
tradition, they dug-in too deep and never resurfaced for a competitive round. It was left to the
Beerfathers to hack their way around the first nine holes, Dez intent on hitting as many
picnickers/park-bevvy-merchants as possible (they took it well) and Rob intent on firing his balls as far as possible.
Suffice to say the Wee Laddie trophy will adorn three mantelpieces this year: a three-way tie (read
'no one kept scores'). (It's fairly certain Rob was challenging an over-par record in part thanks to his seven iron!?)
The makeshift holes (flying discs) made the experience all the more unique.

Manor four years
ago
, was given by Steve.
The three Beerfathers made the short trip to Bennet's to meet up with Colin and Martin
and the night was whiled away in good company; particularly given it had been a few months since
Dez had attended a Manor and Companion Knights were eager to catch up
and obviously pleased to have him back in the company.
Thanks to everyone who joined in the fun and gave an absent Knight a warm welcome back
(for a short while at least).
