Fergusson Pilgrimage
Come help warm Fergusson and pay homage to his concentrated contribution to life and the Cape Club.

Meet in the Tollbooth Tavern between 19.30 and 20.00. We'll head in to Canongate Kirk at 20.00. Guests welcome

Steve, Colin, Martin and Phil met in the Tolbooth Tavern for a pre-pilgrimage drink before heading in to Canongate Kirkyard which in the past few years has been 'busy' with tourists, even at 8 p.m. This year was the same. Steve read the Cape Song and reminded Knights of Fergusson's part in scribing both the Cape Song and what we refer to as the Drinking Song, both screeched at annual Turtle Feasts. A customary tipple to warm the bones of Sir Precentor was poured over the grave; remembering one of Fergussons final wishes as he went sharply downhill in a cold, damp bedlam cell. Colin also provided a small tipple for Knights to enjoy on a fairly mild, dry evening. Knights endured an unwelcome return to the Tolbooth (thanks to a snippy barmaid who announced she was closing the bar minutes after Knights had been served a round). Knights bumped this cold welcome for the warmth of the Scotsman Lounge where the atmosphere was way more convivial, largely thanks to a jubilant party of Americans celebrating a wedding which had taken place elsewhere earlier that day.

Thanks to those who came along and honoured one of the most Cape-ish Cape Club Knights.
