- Another year passed means another supper beckons. Martin and Mary will once again host the haggis extravaganza. Dust off your song sheets and join the throng. Bring your best party-piece and gung-ho attitude to light up the Cape Society's small tribute to the man who paid for Sir Precentor's grave stone and is Scotland's National Bard.

Meet at Martin and Mary's between 19 and 19:30. The party and neeps hot up from then.

Everyone enjoyed 2025's Burns Supper hosted by Martin and Mary.
The food was excellent and plentiful, and everyone brought their singing voice, poet's rhyme, recorder,
piano, melodica, flute, guitar, chanter or 'goose' with which to entertain the gathered revellers.
Lovely hors d'oeurves made with mackerel and salmon as well as prosecco and wine
kicked-off the evening's feast before Burns-worshippers were seated, and the star of the show,
the haggis, was piped to the waiting worthies. The choice of both normal and venison haggis
from Findlay's of Portobello is becoming a welcome tradition.
Full to the gunnels, hosts and guests retired to the sitting room with good whisky
and good tunes to fill the night with fervent fun and balmy Bardness.
There was also lemon cheese cake, homemade fruit compote as well as cheese and crackers and oatcakes
to nibble away the night.
