- Knights and guests are invited on a short walk around the Duddingston area while taking in some of the sights, a little hsitory and finishing at the Sheep Heid Inn for a welcome refreshment and a game of skittles, old style.

There was a bit of a false start when Manor-goers,
keen to be on-the-go, arrived early to Oman's Bar to find it literally didn't open until
the advertised kick-off time of one! and so hung around outside while Dez and Rob, unsuccessfully,
recce'd the nearby golf club. (It was hosting a funeral party.)
Eventually, the doors of Oman's opened and, after a few pints, Dez led a merry dance around Duddingston,
starting across the road from Oman's at the
small Holyrood business park, once the site of the the 'Duddingston Seven' (massive breweries: see notes for more).
There was a short stop at the start of the roadway up to Duddingston Golf Club,
time enough to impart some golf and Jacobite related history, before heading to Doctor MacNeill's Garden
and Duddingston Kirk for a shot on the loupin'-on stane. (The names given to the planting areas in the garden were
a humorous highlight.)
It was then on to the main venue and event: skittles at the Sheep Hied where Helen joined the eight-strong throng.
It was a well-fought competition, run-out with Dez and Steve as winners. A few revellers
grabbed taxis to the newly-named Diggers in Bernard Street, Leith (The Cavern at the time of
Sir North Leith's Pub Guide) where the predictably, inebriated haze decended.

Thanks to everyone who came to pay respects to Dez travelling from Denmark to execute his Manor. It was a great day out with an honourable nod to true Cape Manors of the past.
