Fergusson Pilgrimage
The next Manor will be the annual visit to the grave of Robert Fergusson. We can enjoy a recital of the newly discovered Cape poem as we thank Robert with a tipple.
Meet in The Tolbooth Tavern, 167 Canongate EH8 8BN between 7.30 and 8pm. We'll leave at 8pm. Guests welcome.

This was to be a momentous evening: the first visit to the grave of Robert Fergusson by the Cape Society in possession of the Cape Club poem Fergusson penned. Five Knights (Dave, Colin, Martin, Derran and Steve) met in Tolbooth Tavern for a drink before heading out in to the night: destination Canongate Kirkyard. A quick photo was taken by the statue of Fergusson before Knights made their way to Fergusson's grave to read Sir Precentor his own Cape Club poem. The traditional reading of the inscription on the gravestone and whetting of Robert's whistle with a dram were performed before Knights headed back to the cosiness of Tolbooth Tavern and some convivial chat before heading for home around 11pm. An historic occasion in the life of the modern-day Cape.
