Borders Railway

A trip from Edinburgh (Waverley) to Galashiels on the Borders Railway. A full day out for the Cape to visit Galashiels via the recently opened Borders Railway. Further details to be announced.
A train leaves Edinburgh at 9.56 a.m. An Adult Off Peak Day Return ticket to Galashiels costs £10.40. Guests welcome.

Knights and guests met at Waverly Station to board the 11 o'clock Borders Railway train to Galashiels. After an entertaining and mildly infomative journey which included strawberries and grapes and some history of the railway and station towns, everyone disembarked to explore Galashiels, Melrose and bits of the Southern Upland Way. Later in the day, with full bellies, convivial venues including the local British Legion and Weatherspoons were the order of the day whereupon, all too soon, it was time for the return journey to Edinburgh. Knights and guests said their goodbyes and one or two... or maybe three or more visited The Windsor Buffet for a Knight Cape... or was it night cap? Dunno.

Thanks to everyone (including the weather gods) who helped make it the great day it was.
