"Knights, after the success of Copenhagen it is time for the Cape to once again go on tour......this time to the capital of the greatest Empire the world has ever known....LONDON!....it is early days and the dates are merely a suggestion....your comments and suggestions are welcome..."

So, this Manor is of the Modern Mega variety and will include a walk around the Temple Church and Fleet Street areas of London as well as a boat trip to Greenwich. A July Manor.. in August? No way Cape!

Knights and guests used all manner of transport to hit "Luundun Bay-beee" and met, as planned, at the Knights Templar bar off Fleet Street on Friday evening. After a bite to eat and some swallies everyone wandered the nearby streets and marvelled at the Temple Church and surrounding area with all its law offices. We found the "two pints fur thi mayster" hoos. As night fell and light began to fade Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese with its Samual Smith offerings became home for a short while. We moved on to Ye Olde Watling before heading in the direction of base camp around Aldgate. Check oot Dez's comedy pyook. Don't fret folks, someone had simply dropped a jar of beetroot or similar and decided to do a runner. Base became the Hoop and Grapes. It seemed a very comfortable fit with all Knights and guests of the Cape Society. The next morning everyone fell in line with Martin's excellent itinerary and set sail from Tower Millenium Pier, bound for Greenwich. We were entertained to interesting Thames river facts on the boat trip before docking at Greenwich Pier. We sought refuge in The Mitre while Dave and Carol explored the Cutty Sark and then wandered Greenwich Park, including the National Maritime Museum. No one mention the picture of Steve in his pants please... It was all about grumpy baby Derran's face. :) Fantastic; ice-cream, weather 'n' all. On our return to London Bridge, Davy dashed for Wetherspoons where most Knights and guests satiated their appetites for food and drink. We wandered back in the direction of Aldgate and took in the 12.5 per cent discretionary Bavarian Beerhouse: not a favourite but it included some nice bell-boy taxi and photo bombing hi-jinks. We made it safe back to base (the Hoop and Grapes) with a very short, "we're closing", sojourn to the Duke of Somerset. Next day everyone said farewell over breakfast in the IBIS and Helena, Anne and Steve visited and old Beer Family London homes around Wandsworth Common. What a bloomin' fine MMM guvnur, apples 'n' pears, Maayree Poppins, Luundun Bay-beee!
