Intimate Burns Supper
In what is fast becoming a Cape tradition, Martin and Mary will open their home to Knights, Ladies and guests and host a small Burns Supper.
Gather at Martin and Mary's around 19.00. Bright gushing entrails in view around 19.30.

Normally for a Manor we state Guests welcome. On this occasion, due to the Manor being in a Knight's house, numbers are limited.

Report
Mountains of haggis were made available (from Crombies, Broughton Street rather than sold-out Findlay's, Portobello this year) by gracious hosts Mary and Martin. Delicious, light and fluffy neeps and tatties also adorned the table as did a fine, homemade whisky sauce (whisky courtesy of a Turtle Feast raffle prize donated by George and won by Martin). After a fine feast and with bellies busting like those of the haggis entrails, hosts and guests Colin, Rob, Phil, Helena and Steve retired to the 'smoking room' where those with a Burns or otherwise-related party-piece spoke, acted, sang and generally cajoulled their way through The Immortal Memory, An Old Man Came Courtin Me, Dead Skunk, Morvern's March, That's The Reason Noo I Wear A Kilt, What Can A Young Lassie Do Wi' An Auld Man, Rantin Rovin Robin and the Midgie Song. Anne read from a copy of the Kilmarnock Edition, formerly the property of father-in-law, Arthur (Sir Guilford). The Marshall amp eventually cranked up to 11 and was Uber-despatched, shortly after which the remaining revellers realised time had again flown and headed for the exits.
