A little spice was added to the annual trip to Bruntsfield Links
thanks to young Owen who was making his debut at the event and
showing off considerable skill for an eight year old: must be his dad's doing.
Martin, Colin, Rob, Gordon, Owen and Steve tackled the first nine holes of the course with little serious incident apart from one of Owen's sliced tee shots which crept a little too close to a new blue Peugeot: no harm done. The field finished in the range of 33 to 44 and Gogs laid claim to the Wee Laddie Trophy as he was essentially the only player who could count and so keep a scorecard.
Gogs and Owen left the company and the remaining stick-swingers headed to Bennets where Phil was waiting to accept many happy returns on his 70th birthday. A few cards and a fine bottle of Scotch Malt Whisky Society-supplied whisky were gifted and a few celebratory drinks sunk (much like earlier putts). Frantic Chanters
