It was good to see Rab back in Auld Reikie for the annual pilgrimage to Sir Precentor's grave.
A far smaller and more predictable company of Knights, than that gathered for last year's 250th death-anniversary event,
gathered in the Tolbooth before heading into the dark night to fulfil an annual promise to warm Rob's
bones in death, as he'd been denied towards the end of his life. Steve made mention of how few of
Fergusson's poems were on the common topic of love and read one of those; Lee Rig.
Having poured whisky over the grave, Knights moved-off to the slightly quieter
(in comparison to the Tolbooth Tavern) pastures of the Canons Gait. Knights were overheard
talking of Jacobites by a couple from Massachusetts who had recently visited the spirits who wander
Culloden. Some convivial chat followed between tourists and Knights before, after a fairly
light Cape Manor, matters came to a close with five Knights heading for respective homes.
